Is it my spirit guide I am talking to?

Who is sending you lovely uplifting messages of love and guidance?

How do you recognise who is speaking to you?  Is it your spirit guide talking to you or perhaps your own soul or a passed loved ones?

Understanding who is communicating with you can help you to understand the message. Each communicator will come with a different feel. Over time you will recognise the different energy between a guide or a loved one, much as you can recognise different people’s faces.

The most important thing is that the message is positive and uplifting. If the message is critical or negative. Do not listen to it as it is most likely your ego speaking to you. Stop the process of trying to discern the message and try again another day.

As you gain experience in discerning your messages, be it by a feeling, knowing, smell or a picture in your head, it is helpful to remember a message from different types of communicators can have a different feel. It’s much like your friend and your dad will look and feel different.

Your guide may be a little more impersonal but they can still have a character and often a great sense of humour. They feel more like a teacher than a family member. You may well be asking for guidance on how to connect more easily and with greater clarity or what you should be learning from a particular challenge in your life. Of course they will help you on these things but they also help you on everyday things that make your life more enjoyable. Life is not all about learning, it should be fun too.

A common communicator is your soul. I have to admit for years I spoke to what I thought was a spirit guide, only to find out later it was my own soul!

We all have to live and learn.

Your soul knows you well having been with you since you were born. Your soul tends to give you inspirational thoughts and ideas to help you. These often just come into your mind as you go to sleep or wake up.

Another place seems to be in the shower as the water washes over you cleaning your body, your mind seems to have more clarity and is more receptive to what your soul has to say. You need to capture these inspirational thoughts as they tend to fade very quickly. Write a few bullet points down on some paper and it will help your mind to recall the information at a later time.

Your soul will often be with you when things go wrong, you are upset or you are feeling ill. Your soul will offer you comfort, strength and support. What seems an impossible situation, you will find a way through with the help of your soul.

The final communicator and often the most cherished is a passed loved one.

A loved one is often much more familiar and may use memories of your lives together to give you a message. They come with a great deal of love and often offer support in helping you with endeavours in your life. They may also make contact to give you a message which they did not manage to give you in life. However, do remember the essential character of your passed loved one remains the same.

Initially you may not be able to identify who is talking to you. This does not matter. If the messages are positive, insightful and uplifting, just accept them as that and if they help you in your life make use of them.

Over time you will come to know who they are.
