Remaining calm through the festive season

The festive season is meant to be a time of joy – being with loved ones, a rest from work or studying, giving and receiving gifts.

The reality is often far removed from the intention. Experiences can range from too many people in the house with tensions between the generations or individuals, to someone on their own feeling left out and extremely lonely.

The preparations for gatherings and gifts can be onerous taking the joy from the occasion.

If you are experiencing feelings of being overwhelmed, financial stress or dread of the December festivities, it is time to take a step back and evaluate what you want this time to bring for you and your loved ones. read more

Feeling jaded?: Mother Nature can assist

So often we are so busy with our lives – work, partners, family and friends that we forget to do something for ourselves. I am as guilty of this as anyone else. Since I stepped out of corporate life, Your Soul Family has been with me on holidays, festivals and family time. I have never been strong with defining my boundaries and I needed to take a look at how I was living.

At the beginning of July my husband suggested a trip to France to look for a new home. France is a large and beautiful country. On previous trips we had narrowed down the areas we were interested in. At the last moment we decided to go camping, something I have not done since my 20s. We bought some kit and the tent only arrived the day before we left. We had no time to practise pitching it before we needed to do it for real to sleep in it. read more

The Secrets of 3 types of love

Love comes in many shapes and forms

Whenever anyone speaks of love, they are often referring to romantic love between two people. I believe that love is infinite and can come in many forms. If romantic love was the only form of love, it would be quite exclusive and in limited quantities. It would be a hard world with only this type of love available to give and receive.

Fortunately for us love comes in many forms – parental, family, friends, pets, yourself. All of the important people in your life are available for you to love. In my view love is infinite and the more of it in your life, the richer it will be. Some people believe that you cannot possibly love a step or adopted child as much as a biological child. I disagree with this view. I think the choice is yours to decide how much you open your heart to love a person. read more

Secrets of understanding yourself

From my earliest years I happily chatted to someone inside of me not knowing who they were. Knowing no difference, I assumed everybody else did too. Many children do the same until they are seven when the practice seems to fade. I was a sickly child and spent much of my time in bed. A simple cold would send me to bed for a week to wait for my immune system to kick in. Bored and a little lonely, I kept my practice of chatting to my internal friend going throughout my growing up and into my adult years. read more

Spiritual development: Dark Night of the Soul

Spiritual development is often a solitary journey. As a psychic medium, I just followed my intuition and let it guide me where I needed to go. However I didn’t always understand what was happening to me.

The Dark Night of the Soul can be particularly dramatic and it can help to understand what is happening to you. I cross referenced literature to try and gain an understanding including;

  • the teachings of the Tibetan channelled by Alice Bailey
  • William Meader’s Shine Forth plus his video lectures giving a simplified version of the Alice Bailey teachings,
  • Michael Newton’s Destiny of Souls
  • Various texts about Kundalini.

People seldom talk about their spiritual development. It is a personal journey with your soul and Spirit. I did wonder what other people were experiencing. I found a lovely writer Patricia Williams who speaks of her experiences and gives words of wisdom on managing your own Dark Night of the Soul. read more

Who am I?: can I influence the world I live in which is so full of fear

Am I just flesh and bones?

Do you feel there is more to you than flesh and bones?

Well yes actually. I am more than my body. I have thoughts, feelings and dreams. I love my parents, my partner and my children even though they annoy me sometimes. Surely all of this is part of me as well as my body.

Your thoughts, feelings and dreams are all energy as much as your body. Have you ever felt your mother’s disapproval without her even speaking a word?

Well of course I have, especially when I was growing up. read more

How are we coping with so many people dying of Covid-19?

Grieving for a loss or trying to support someone who has lost a loved one?

All of us experience grief at some point in our lives.  When we experience it for the first time it can come as quite a shock.  It is often not talked about so it is hard to know how to deal with it.

In the UK over 100,000 people have passed as a direct result of catching Covid-19. On average for each person who passes, 8 – 10 people feel the loss of them in their lives.

The population of the UK is approximately 68m people and up to 1m of them are currently grieving. Many of them are young adults who did not expect to loose a parent so soon. 1m people is nearly 1.5% of the population, so probably all of us know someone who has lost a loved one and is grieving. The UK is not the only country in this situation. read more
