Reconnect with Nature for Deeper Spiritual Growth

In our fast-paced, modern lives, we often overlook the profound impact that nature can have on your spiritual and emotional well-being. Yet, throughout history, cultures worldwide have turned to the natural world for healing, guidance, and connection to something greater. The bond between nature and spirituality is intrinsic, offering us a path toward deeper self-awareness, inner peace, and growth.

How do you connect with Nature for inner peace and growth?

Nature as a Gateway to Inner Stillness

In the hustle and bustle of daily life, your mind is constantly stimulated by information, tasks, and technology. This overstimulation can distance you from your inner self, leaving you feeling disconnected and anxious. read more

Feeling jaded?: Mother Nature can assist

So often we are so busy with our lives – work, partners, family and friends that we forget to do something for ourselves. I am as guilty of this as anyone else. Since I stepped out of corporate life, Your Soul Family has been with me on holidays, festivals and family time. I have never been strong with defining my boundaries and I needed to take a look at how I was living.

At the beginning of July my husband suggested a trip to France to look for a new home. France is a large and beautiful country. On previous trips we had narrowed down the areas we were interested in. At the last moment we decided to go camping, something I have not done since my 20s. We bought some kit and the tent only arrived the day before we left. We had no time to practise pitching it before we needed to do it for real to sleep in it. read more

City dwellers: Do you need to find some peace?

I live in the city of London. I would describe myself as a country girl wilting in the city.

In a city we have smaller homes which are often close together. Each day I take myself for a walk to find peace and to re-connect with my soul. Getting closer to Nature definitely makes it easier. Here are some of the things I do. They may give you some ideas:

  • walk alone, this is time for you and your soul.
  • look up at the sky and enjoy the panorama of clouds, sky and if you are lucky the sun.
  • Feel the sun on your face, close your eyes and enjoy it.
  • If its raining, use a hat or a hood and let the rain splash on your face – it’s cold and invigorating.
  • Find the times of day the park is quieter and try to walk at these times.
  • Observe the trees and plants around you, most cities have some. Notice the change of the seasons, especially the promise of the spring after a long winter.
  • Walk and talk to your soul.

Ask questions of your soul about how you may improve your life. Wait for the inspiration or suggestions to arrive.

Be creative on getting closer to nature. Today it’s pouring in London. I stood by a storm drain and listened to the water running down the side of the road and drop down into the drain. I felt it was my temporary ‘happy stream’ come to join my walk. read more

Covid-19: is it providing us with an opportunity to permanently change our lives?

Is Covid-19 creating a burning platform for change?

While it may not go away totally and we will have to learn to live with it, Covid-19 has forced us to change the way we are living and to consider what is important to us.

Loved ones are at the top of our prioritises – not unsurprisingly. Leading a simpler life has been a new experience for some and has made people question whether they need all of their ‘things’. Nature is valued more. Relationships and happy experiences enrich our lives. read more

Covid-19

Many people have asked me if I think there is a purpose behind Covid-19. I believe it is offering us learning and healing on so many levels. The Spring lockdown was like humanity pressing the ‘pause’ button. Most of us were restricted to our homes with little external stimulation. It gave us time to reflect on who and what was important to us in our life.

As a result many people are choosing to live their life differently.

Certainly in London there is a building trend of people deciding to live outside of the city where there is more space and nature. They are limiting their work time in the office and commuting only when necessary. read more

Life is for living and enjoying

Everybody’s life has its ups and downs. Even in the hardest of lives you can take pleasure in small things.

In a the middle of a busy business day I stepped outside for a few minutes to get some fresh air. Unexpectedly I was given an amazing display of a hawk soaring and swooping in the sky.  I could feel the air rushing in his face and the power of his wings guiding the air current to send him soaring above the hills. It was exhilarating and energizing just to watch.

Of course the hawk was hunting totally oblivious to his audience.  He was doing it with such energy and elegance I am sure he was having a wonderful time. I had to smile at his prowess. read more
