Nature
With the longer days and golden light of summer approaching, it’s the perfect time to ask: How can I refresh myself – deeply and meaningfully – amidst the busyness of life?
We’re so often pulled in a dozen directions – family, work, responsibilities – that we forget one simple truth: we must love ourselves, too, not as an afterthought, but as a way of life.
The Universe recently sent me a beautiful reminder of this. I spent my holiday camping in rural France, tucked away in a peaceful, green valley with no mobile signal at all. For two weeks, I lived without distractions – just birdsong, starry skies, and the gentle rhythm of the earth. And something amazing happened: I rediscovered a deep pool of peace within myself.
But the real question is:
How do you sustain that peace when you return to everyday life?
One answer lies in creating small pauses in your day. Even five minutes to sit quietly, breathe, and listen to your heart can reset your nervous system. Or take a walk in a nearby park – yes, even urban greenery works wonders. Nature, in all its forms, offers a sense of grounding and calm if you open yourself to it.
Different cultures offer unique ways to reconnect. In Japan, there is shinrin-yoku – forest bathing – an invitation to slowly wander and absorb the atmosphere of the trees. In the Mediterranean, long afternoon rests and outdoor meals nourish both body and soul. In India, daily rituals of silence, incense, and mantra offer centering and spiritual connection.
But whatever path you choose, one message shines through: you are responsible for your inner life. No one else can walk your path or fill your cup.
There are so many techniques to help you explore your inner landscape – from journaling, meditation, breathwork, to gentle movement like yoga or dance. What matters most is finding what feels nourishing to you.
For me, a few key practices stand out:
- Speak your truth with kindness and clarity
- Act in alignment with what feels authentic
- Create space for yourself, even in tiny pockets of time
- And most importantly, tend to your mind, which can so quickly become cluttered with everyone else’s noise

As summer rolls in, let it be more than just a season. Let it be a gentle reminder to come back home – to yourself.
You are worthy of that love.
